Summary of the State of Agile Report 2017

"The agile movement is in some ways a bit like a teenager: very self-conscious, checking constantly its appearance in a mirror, accepting few criticisms, only interested in being with its peers, rejecting en bloc all wisdom from the past, just because it is from the past, adopting fads and new jargon, at times cocky and arrogant. But I have no doubts that it will mature further, become more open to the outside world, more reflective, and also therefore more effective".
-Philippe Kruchten (2011)

This quote really caught my attention because it honed in on some of the faults the agile movement has had since its inception.

The results of this year’s VersionOne State of Agile Report came from thousands of companies across the world from all kinds of industries to answer the one big question, “How is adoption of Agile making a better enterprise?"

In this episode I will focus on the salient points of this survey, especially as it relates to scaling agile across the enterprise. This summary distills VersionOne's findings. You can obtain the full State of Agile Report at
